ZOTAC Debuts GeForce GTS 450 ECO Edition For Energy-Efficiency

By

ZOTAC today debuted the new GeForce GTS 450 ECO Edition with enhanced energy-efficiency. The new ZOTAC GeForce GTS 450 ECO Edition delivers best-in-class energy efficiency with a 33-percent reduction in energy consumption. The Zotac GeForce GTS 450 video card has a core clock speed of 600MHz, the 192 unified shaders run at 1200MHz and the memory is clocked at 1333MHz. The NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 reference design runs at 783MHz on the core, 1566MHz on the shaders and 1804MHz on the memory. As you can see the bulk of the power savings come from lower clock speeds and likely lower voltages. This means you’ll have to give up some graphics performance to be able to save some power.

ZOTAC understands the importance of energy-efficient graphics performance for users that demand the latest 3D features with a performance kick, said Carsten Berger, marketing director, ZOTAC International. With the ZOTAC GeForce GTS 450 ECO Edition, we were able to improve energy-efficiency and eliminate the external power connector without sacrificing any GPU features.
