.xxx Domain Idea Shelved

It looks like the proposed porn domain, .xxx, has been denied once again. I would have thought it to be a great idea in order to improve filtering techniques to restrict porn sites from popping up in classrooms, work, etc.
A plan for a new internet “domain” for pornography has once again been shelved, dealing another blow to the US-backed addressing system that acts as the glue holding together the unified global internet.
