Company of Heroes

Company of Heroes (CoH) is a real-time strategy (RTS) computer game developed by Relic Entertainment that was released on September 14, 2006. On May 29, 2007 Relic released a patch for Company of Heroes that supports DirectX 10 and we used the latest patch to test DirectX 10 game performance. Company of Heroes is set during World War II where the player follows a military unit, known as Able Company, as they fight their way through some of the greatest and bloodiest battles, including the D-Day landings at Normandy.

Company of Heroes Benchmark Settings

We originally tried to benchmark Company of Heroes with 16xQ CSAA, but it wouldn’t work on Quad-SLI. we ended up having to turn off Antialiasing and re-testing the cards since there is a bug with the NVIDIA drivers that does not play nice with Antialiasing and Compmany of Heroes.

Company of Heroes Benchmark Results

Benchmark Results: If the scores from Tomb Raider: Anniversary were not strange enough here we find NVIDIA scaling more than 100%, which doesn’t make too much sense. The XFX GeForce 9800 GX2 in Quad-SLI was able to beat out the ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 Quad-CrossFireX in this test. It should be noted though that the Quad-SLI test system did seem to stutter at times during the benchmark as it dropped down to 1FPS at certain points. NVIDIA informed Legit Reviews that there is a bug with the game with 4xAA that only exists with Quad SLI, which might be why we didn’t notice this with just a single GeForce 9800 GX2.
