Xbox One Preview Shows Off Fast Start for Game Pass Titles
We all want to get to playing games faster when it’s time for some gaming action. If you are a fan of the Xbox One Xbox Games Pass, you will be glad to hear that a new Xbox One Preview Beta has turned up and, in that preview, Microsoft has added Fast Start to the mix. Fast Start is also available to some Delta Ring users to try out.
Fast Start is something that Microsoft talked up during E3 and it uses machine learning to make games playable twice as fast as before. That happens because the game downloads only the elements you need to start the game. There is a caveat in that only some games will support the feature apparently.
For starters, the software giant wants feedback from users on Fast Start games like Spelunky, The Flame in the Flood, The Golf Club, and Fuzion Frenzy among others. The new Fast Start feature is part of the latest Xbox One system update 1806.180612-1920. Specifically, Microsoft says that this is available as an Xbox One Preview Beta and to a “subset” of Delta Ring.
That implies that perhaps all Delta Ring users won’t have access. The update also includes some fixes for other issues as well including one that prevented the CW app from launching correctly. Players will also no longer have to install a game being updated that uses the Fast Start feature if they cancel that update.
