Windows 8 Pro UK Upgrade Price to Cost 25

The US upgrade price for people upgrading from an older version of Windows to Windows 8 Pro has been set at $39.99. Microsoft had previous said that the UK upgrade price would be 40, which would actually make the upgrade more expensive for UK customers. However, Microsoft has now clarified its upgrade pricing, making the revised price just 25, which is about the same as the US price when converted from dollars. Apparently, the higher price announced was due to a “miscommunication” within the company.
Microsoft’s press agency insists that the price wasn’t amended following press coverage of the price originally quoted, and that there had simply been an internal communication error.
