HD Tune Pro 4.60 is an extended version of HD Tune which includes many new features such as write benchmark, secure erasing, AAM setting, folder usage view, disk monitor, command line parameters and file benchmark.

Benchmark Results: The WD Caviar 2TB Green hard drive’s average read speed was found to be 80.2MB/s with an average write speed of 79.4MB/s with the latest version of HD Tune Pro. The new WD Caviar 3TB Green hard drive had average read speed was found to be 98.5MB/s with an average write speed of 94.8MB/s. Looks like the new WD 3TB drive performs pretty well from the looks of things!

Benchmark Results: Running the built-in file benchmark test in HD Tune 4.60 shows how the drive performs with various file sizes. This test shows the Western Caviar Green 2GB hard drive has better write performance, but the 3TB drive has better read performance.
