WD My Cloud DL4100 iSCSI Performance Tests
To check the iSCSI performance of the WD My Cloud DL4100 8TB we created an iSCSI target that was 100GB in size and ran a couple benchmarks again to see what it did to the overall system performance. The RAID 1 remained at RAID 1 for this dual-drive NAS and the iSCSI initiator used an unencrypted connection over our Gigabit Ethernet network.
The WD My Cloud DL4100 topped out at 101.8 MB/s read and 102.8 MB/s write in the sequential file transfer tests in CrystalDiskMark when configured like this.
ATTO showed that we topped out at 118MB/s read and 118MB/s write. It looks like the WD My Cloud DL4100 has basically maxed out our Gigabit LAN and it looks like we are ready for 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) to become more popular in business class products like this.
