Verizon Communications Inc., the second-largest U.S. telephone company, said it dropped the cost of its Internet-based phone service that includes unlimited calling to $24.95 a month.

Customers previously paid $29.95 to $34.95 a month for the VoiceWing service, the New York-based company said today in a statement. The cost doesn’t include taxes or surcharges. The new price is in line with that of Internet phone service provider Vonage Holdings Corp.
