Asustek Computer, Acer, Lenovo and even Micro-Star International (MSI), which originally planned to launch in December, are all set to launch their Atom N450-based netbooks on January 11, 2010, complying with their agreement with Intel to only launch the products after January 10.

Vendors will launch three versions of Atom N450-based netbooks using different operating systems Windows 7 Starter, Moblin Linux and Windows XP Home Edition with Windows 7 Starter being the most popular choice for vendors, but also featuring the highest cost among the three. Vendors also expect the appearance of Google Chrome OS, which is expected to launch in mid-to-late-2010 to put pressure on Microsoft to give vendors more flexible quotes. In addition to Atom N450, Intel will launch an upgraded Atom N470 CPU in March 2010.
