One of the most respected figures in the gaming industry, Gabe Newell, co-founder and managing director of Valve Corporation, has seen his company’s estimated enterprise value rise above $3 billion. This comes as no surprise considering how big a year 2011 was for Valve, with Steam sales doubling for the seventh straight year and Portal 2 being a massive success. According to Forbes, Gabe Newell himself is also the newest Billionaire to come out of the gaming industry with his estimated net worth being $1.5 billion, which ranks him 854th out of 1,226 global billionaires.
