Valve Announced Team Fortress 2 is Free to Play

Valve has announced that the online action game Team Fortress 2 is now free to play for PC and Mac players via Steam. Valve is the creator of bestselling games like Half-life, Portal, Left 4 Dead, and Counter-Strike. They have has also created leading technologies such as Steam and Source. The Free 2 Play event comes as part of a mass update released today for Team Fortress 2. Valve has also released Meet the Medic an animated short to celebrate the launch of the update. This should be a great way for players interested in online action games to play for free.

New players interested in experiencing what PC Gamer calls “the most fun you can have online” will have access to training and offline practice modes, so they can hone their skills before jumping into the ever-expanding TF2 universe.
