Valve & AMD Team Up for ATI Catalyst Driver Updates on Steam
AMD and Valve have teamed up to make access to new ATI Catalyst drivers easier to obtain. Both companies have announced collaboration plans allowing Steam users to detect and install the latest ATI Catalyst divers for their ATI Radeon graphics cards. This will be first ATI Catalyst driver update that will be available via Steam will be ATI Catalyst 10.9 and notebooks are not supported at this point.
This announcement is another example of the AMD Gaming Evolved initiative in action. The program, which represents AMDs deep commitment to PC gamers, PC game development and the PC gaming industry, is dedicated to creating the best possible gaming experience on the PC. With auto-notification of driver updates delivered via Steam to users with ATI Radeon graphics hardware, this relationship will provide gamers the opportunity to optimize their PC gaming experience.
