Unlocked Apple iPhone 4 to be Available at Apple Stores This Week
In the U.S. iPhone 4 is only available SIM-locked but you can buy unlocked IPhone 4s in countries like Canada, UK, France, and Hong Kong. Apple plans to release unlocked iPhone 4s this Wednesday at U.S. Apple Stores. “Unlocked iPhones headed to Apple Stores for Wednesday: MC603 (16GB, Black) MC604 (16GB, White) MC605 (32GB, Black) MC606 (32GB, White)”. These codes referred to AT&T iPhone 4 models not Verizon so for you Sprint users the CDMA iPhone 4 will not work. If an unlocked iPhone 4 with AWS frequencies is available T-Mobile users will be able to use the IPhone 4 on their network. Heres the catch: There will be no unlocked 3G model, only Wi-Fi, so if thats not what youre looking for then your out of luck.
Now unfortunately, these codes relate to AT&T iPhone 4 models, not Verizon so hopes of an unlocked CDMA iPhone 4 that can be used on the Sprint network are shattered. However if come Wednesday we do see unlocked iPhone 4 models with AWS frequencies, it means that T-Mobile users will technically be able to use the iPhone 4 on their network. The catch is that there will be no 3G so if you’re not satisfied with WiFi then you’re out of luck.
