New Works with Nest integration brings heightened functionality, convenience and energy savings to the UniKey platform.
LAS VEGAS – CES 2015 – UniKey Booth #70334, Sands Convention Center Smart Home Marketplace CES Tech West – January 5, 2015 – 6:05 AM Pacific – UniKey, the industry leader in smart access control technology, announced today that its Touch-to-Open technology and smart access control cloud now integrates with the Nest Learning Thermostat through the Works with Nest program. Kwikset Kevo, the market-leading smart lock, is the premier product powered by UniKey to work with Nest, allowing users to set Nest Home and Away modes, along with temperature settings, through the Kevo app.

UniKey’s Touch-to-Open technology allows the user to unlock the door with just a touch, keeping the smartphone in a pocket or purse. Upon unlocking, Kevo will send the user’s preferred temperature to the Nest Thermostat, turning on Home Mode. After locking the door to leave, Kevo communicates with Nest, automatically setting Away Mode. UniKey’s access control cloud platform enables the Nest Thermostat to know who has arrived home and therefore set personalized temperature preferences as defined by the individual Kevo user.
