TP-LINK Unveils AV1200 Gigabit Powerline Adapter, Fastest Powerline Standard to Date With 3 Gigabit Ports
TL-PA8030 features the latest HomePlug AV2 standard with MIMO Powerline technology, providing gigabit speeds and extending wireless access to hard to reach areas of a home or office
LAS VEGAS, NV–(Jan 6, 2015) – 2015 International CES – TP-LINK, a global provider of consumer and SMB networking products, today announced at the 2015 International CES the TL-PA8030 AV1200 Gigabit Powerline Adapter, featuring the latest HomePlug AV2 standard with MIMO Powerline technology. The new Powerline adapter delivers multi-stream networking over the existing electrical wiring of a home or office, and is backwards compatible with existing TP-LINK HomePlug AV standard adapters.
Users can get their networks up and running, simply by plugging the Powerline adapter into an available power outlet, eliminating the need for time-consuming and expensive renovations previously required to establish a whole-home or office wired Ethernet network.
The TL-PA8030 Powerline adapter can achieve speeds up to 1.2Gbps, making it well suited for audio and video streaming, online gaming, multi-room IPTV and other high-demand networking uses.
Additionally, the new Powerline adapter can transmit data over Gigabit Ethernet ports, creating secure wired networks for true gigabit-class broadband speeds, and is particularly effective when supporting multiple HD-capable devices simultaneously.
HomePlug AV2 MIMO Technology
The Powerline adapter utilizes multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology to achieve improved transmission speeds. Previously, Powerline adapters could only utilize two wires in a building which limited transmission speed. The TL-PA8030 with MIMO technology uses all three types of a building’s electrical wiring (power, ground and neutral), creating multiple data paths for increased potential throughput performance. Combined with the HomePlug AV2 protocol, MIMO technology helps the network adapter achieve the fastest Powerline throughput available today.
“Dense construction materials and non-ideal building layouts have always been a challenge when trying to establish reliable Wi-Fi networks,” said Lewis Wu, executive vice president of TP-LINK U.S. “Our new Powerline adapter not only provides a solution for this, but also utilizes new technology to achieve stable performance and gigabit broadband speeds, even when connected to multiple devices at once.”
Wu added, “Buildings with obstacles such as wall partitions, cement walls, sound-barrier walls, metal studs and multiple levels present challenges for Wi-Fi networks by degrading their wireless signal. Current wireless routers can extend their networks farther than ever, however, the FCC’s limitations on power broadcast means demand for electrical Powerline adapters will continue to grow into the foreseeable future.”
The TL-PA8030 Powerline adapter can meet the needs of families and small businesses and offers the following:
- The HomePlug AV2 protocol standard
- Three Gigabit Ethernet ports for stable connectivity
- Plug and play configuration with no setup required
- 128-bit AES encryption for secured data
- A power-saving mode that reduces energy consumption by up to 85%
- A range of up to 1,000 feet over existing electrical wiring
- Backwards-compatibility with existing TP-LINK adapters: (AV1200, AV1000, AV600, AV500 and AV200)
Availability
TP-LINK’s new Powerline adapters will be shown from January 6-9, 2015 at the Las Vegas Convention Center — Booth No. 36206 South Hall 4, Upper Level.
The TL-PA8030 is planned for availability in Q3, 2015 at www.store.tp-link.com and leading online and retail stores.
