Toshiba Launches First microSDHC UHS-I EXCERIA Product

Toshiba today announced that it will expand its family of EXCERIA memory cards with the addition of microSDHC versions. The new cards offer the industry’s leading performance in this format — which is the smallest currently available. The first microSDHC EXCERIA cards to be introduced will be the Type HD series and is fully compliant with the UHS-I Memory Card Standard. The Type HD series of microSDHC cards have a maximum read speed of 95MB/sec and a maximum write speed of 30MB/sec. The first models will be available in Q4 2012, with capacities between 8GB and 32GB.

The minimum recording speed is compliant with UHS speed class 1 and SD speed class 10. These cards deliver the capacity, speed and performance needed to support the capabilities of the latest personal digital equipment, including HD video recording and continuous image shooting with digital cameras. Toshiba’s EXCERIA family includes versions offering the world’s fastest data transfer speed for an SD memory card. Designed for use in extreme conditions, these new water resistant memory cards are ideal for demanding applications such as professional and sports photography — where high reliability is essential.
