Tons of Water Ice Found on Moon’s North Pole

After years of trying to detect even minute traces of water on the moon, NASA has finally found the mother lode on the moon’s north pole. This is a big deal since water on the moon can be harvested to manufacture rocket fuel, air, drinking water and other necessities for space travel and eliminates the need to haul it from Earth. Vast pockets of water ice numbering in the millions of tons have been discovered at the north pole of the moon, opening up another region of the lunar surface for potential exploration by astronauts and unmanned probes, NASA announced Monday.
