Thermaltake Frio Overclocking CPU Cooler Review
Thermaltake Frio – What’s in the Box?
When you first look at a picture of the Fro you will notice that this air cooler has a side-flow design to get the most airflow as possible. By having this kind of tower design we are actually able to mount two 120mm fans on to the cooling tower. The Fro itself is built around 5 thermal heat pipes that help conduct heat from a nickel-coated mirrored base. Thermaltake also designed the Fro with 48 custom designed aluminum fins made out of .4mm-thich aluminum for the maximum amount of heat dissipation.
Thermaltake ships the Fro with the two 120mm fans with independent speed controls for both. The fans run at speeds rated between 1200 RPM to 2500 RPM and are rated for a maximum of 102 CfM at 20-43 dBA in sound noise. Depending on your setup and needs, you can choose to run one fan or both fans for maximum airflow.
The Frio kit has enough mounting hardware to fit most all processors on the market today including: Intels Latest 6-core, LGA1366, 1156, and 775 sockets as well as AMDs AM3, AM2+, and AM2. Besides the cooler and specific mounting hardware for AAMD and Intel hardware, you will find nuts, washers, vibration isolators, and a generous supply of Thermaltake thermal grease for your build.
