Thecus Launches N7510 7-Bay NAS

By

Thecus has announced the availability of the M7510, a new high-value 7-bay NAS, which they have added to their “Vision” series of towers. Making use of Intel’s Atom CPU, 2GB DDR3, HDMI output, along with data protection and McAfee antivirus, this particular NAS has a great deal of performance and storage without dropping a small fortune. The 7-bay N7510 completes Thecus’s Vision series, which also consists of the 2-bay N2800, 4-bay N4800, 4-bay M4510U and the 5-bay N5550. Software-wise the N7510 will use the new ThecusOS 5.0, which is preinstalled and comes with some interesting features, two of which stand out which would be Data Burn and Data Guard. They work exactly as they sound, with Data Burn allowing users to back up their data to disk by connecting an external CD, DVD or Blu-ray burner via the available USB ports. Data Guard on the other hand allows the back up of data across RAID volumes, external USB drives, eSATA etc, it even offers the ability to sync data across the network with other NAS and servers. Rounding out its features is the multimedia playback functionality, which is made possible due to the HDMI output. Users can simply connect the NAS to a TV and by connecting a mouse and keyboard via USB access the media files on the NAS through its NAS UI.
