The Intel P35 Chipset Motherboard Round-Up – Abit, ASUS, Foxconn
ASUS Blitz Formula Bundle and BIOS
Asus does a supreme job of making the packaging look classy and expensive!
Included in this huge bundle is everything, including the kitchen sink! Infact, there is so much, I am just gonna list it here so that I do not miss anything:
LCD Poster
DIY Pedestal
ASUS Optional Fan
SupremeFX II Audio Card
3 in 1 ASUS Q-Connector Kit
UltraDMA 133/100/66 cable
Floppy disk drive cable
SATA cables
SATA power cables
2-port USB2.0 + IEEE 1394a module
I/O Shield
Cable Ties
User’s manual and CD’s (including STALKER game)
Asus goes with a cutomized AMI BIOS for the Blitz Formula board. The main page is where you see your attached drives, and gives you the place to set up your SATA drives.
The Extreme Tweaker page is where it is at! This is where you will spend your time sqeezing every ounce of performance out of your rig!
Asus still has the AI Overclocking available if you want to use it. This is an auto overclocker, which I have never really gotten into, as I like to do it myself! You can see that this page is also where you can set all of your DDRII timings.
FSB Strap to the Northbridge allows for 200/266/333.
FSB goes up to a massive 800fsb! This is just a crazy amount… for now!
PCI-S Frequency gives us up to 150.
DDRII timings can be set to 667/800/887/1067.
Command rate can be adjusted.
Available vcore goes up to 1.9v! This is awesome!
CPU reference voltage adjustments.
Loadline Calibration.
FSB termination voltage up to 1.8v.
Northbridge goes up to 2.03v. WOW!
I about fell out of my chair when I saw the vdimm had options all the way to 3.4v! Holy Cow! We barely got that with the first gen of DDR Ram! There are a few other minor volotage adjustments… here is a quick look at them:
The advanced page also gives us a few option you may need to get to.
Onboard device setup…
Boot order is set here.
The hardware monitor page.
Asus, like the Abit we looked at, has included the ability to save different BIOS profiles as well. Once again, this is a great little feature to have.
