The Culling 2 Failed so Hard the Developer is Pulling the Game
Fans of the battle royale game genre may be familiar with the game called “The Culling”. It’s certainly not a “PUBG” or “Fortnite”, but the game was popular enough that the developer of the original recently launched a follow-up called “The Culling 2”. That game was an absolute miserable failure.
The game is being pulled from marketplaces on the PS4, Steam, and Xbox One. Why would a developer pull a game it invested time and money in? GameRant reports that Steam Charts, a service that analyzes concurrent players in Steam games, shows that the most concurrent players “The Culling 2” racked up two days after release was four players total. FOUR.
Developer Xaviant Games is pulling the title to try and win back some of its players by focusing on the original game which was much more successful than the sequel. It’s hard to imagine a studio sinking time and money into developing a new game that failed so completely as “The Culling 2” did and being able to continue operating.
If you are one of the handful of people that bought “The Culling 2”, you will be issued a refund. At least you won’t be stuck with money spent on a game that no one plays. Refunding is a good move for Xaviant.
