That Massive Battlefield 3 Patch: 27th March
By
It has been widely reported that developer DICE are bringing out a massive patch for Battlefield 3 soon and the fixes going into it have been gone into in detail. However, the Battlefield 3 official blog has now set an official launch date for the patch for the PlayStation 3 version: 27th March. However, PC and Xbox 360 gamers won’t be left out, as a version for them is expected “soon”. The biggest change is the addition of the server rental option announced at the Game Developers Conference this month. A tiny handful of the hundreds of changes are listed below and the rest are detailed in the blog.
GENERAL GAMEPLAY FIXES
- Players should no longer take fall damage from short falls
- Players now get up from Prone slightly faster, allowing better odds of getting away from a grenade or threat when prone
- Fixed some situations that would unintentionally make a player unrevivable
- Switching from primary weapons to sidearms and back now takes less time
- Increased the effectiveness of explosive resistance
- The Knife now only takes two swipes to kill when attacking from a position where a takedown is not possible
