Synology Introduces the DiskStation DS411 NAS Server
Synology recently announced the latest offering in its DiskStation lineup of network attached storage. The DS411 is the successor to the popular DiskStation DS410. The DS411 is a 4-bay server that the company says is perfect for small office environments. Businesses will appreciate the hardware encryption assist to boost speeds when encrypting folders. Even though it will debut under $500, it still offers uncompromising performance, giving users the performance they need at a reasonable price; boasting read speeds of 105.3 MB/s and write speeds of 47.8 MB/s under RAID 5 configuration in a Windows environment.
Synology DS411 offers comprehensive network protocol support, assuring seamless file sharing across Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms. Windows ADS integration allows the Synology DS411 to quickly and easily fit into an existing business network environment with no need to recreate user accounts. Internet file access is simplified by the encrypted FTP server and the web-based file explorer, Synology File Station. HTTPS, firewall, and IP auto-block support ensure file sharing over the Internet is protected at a high security level.
