Synology Announces 4-Bay DiskStation For Under $670 – DS411+II

Synology today announced the release of the DS411+II, the successor to the DS411+. Supporting 3TB drives, the DS411+II offers up to 12TB of storage in a desktop configuration. The storage can be configured in a variety of volume types, including Synology Hybrid RAID (SHR) for automated volume management. Synology said that in a RAID 5 array that you can get an average 110.73 MB/sec read and 105.48MB/sec write speeds in a Windows environment with high performance hard drives, which isn’t bad for only using 60W of power during operation and 20W during hibernation. The system uses a dual-core 1.8GHz processor with 1GB of DDR2 memory. The Synology DS411+II is scheduled to be release for under $670 with a 2-year limited warranty.
