Super Talent UltraDrive ME 64GB MLC SSD Benchmarks
HD Tach v3.0.4.0
HD Tach is a low level hardware benchmark for random access read/write storage devices such as hard drives, removable drives (ZIP/JAZZ), flash devices, and RAID arrays. HD Tach uses custom device drivers and other low level Windows interfaces to bypass as many layers of software as possible and get as close to the physical performance of the device possible.
Benchmark Results: The UltraDrive ME 64GB SSD has impressive read and write speeds as seen in the benchmark results above. The average read speed was found to be 219.5MB/s with a write speed of 130.7MB/s. These are very solid scores for an MLC-based SSD with the barefoot controller.
Comparison Chart: When comparing the Super Talent UltraDrive ME 64GB SSD to other popular hard drives like the Western Digital Scorpio Black 320GB and the Seagate Momentus 7200.4 500GB, you can see just how fast the drive performs. The UltraDrive ME 64GB was just shy of having the fastest average read speed of any dirve we have ever benchmarked. The Super Talent UltraDrive ME is hands down superior to the Super Talent MasterDrive OX 64GB Solid State Drive (SSD) as you can tell from the benchmarks. The write performance alone is over three times faster, so the UltraDrive ME lives up to the nomenclature so far. The results of HD Tach’s CPU utilization test don’t mean much as the application has a +/- 2% margin of error and the results are within this range.
