Super Talent Launches Secure USB 3.0 Flash Called Drive DataGuardian
Super Talent Technology today announced the USB 3.0 DataGuardian. The SuperTalent USB 3.0 DataGuardian offers a solution; password protection that is easy to use, requires no software installation and that runs in user mode. Simply plug in the USB 3.0 DataGuardian and an application, stored in the drives firmware (on-chip), is launched automatically. Simply enter your password and you will have access to your data; unplug the drive and the drive is secure once again. The drive is also fast as it is able to hit 85MB/s on Reads and up to 40MB/s on the Writes. Not only is this a fast USB 3.0 drive but it is also quite fast as a USB 2.0 drive; reaching speeds of 37MB/s Reads and 27MB/s on the Writes. The Super Talent DataGuardian starts at $24 for the 8GB version and goes up in price from there. The USB 3.0 DataGuardian will begin shipping October 17th, 2011.
