Super Talent 2GB Exelerator Ready Boost Review
Installing the 2GB Exelerator ReadyBoost Drive
Installing the Super Talent Exelerator ReadyBoost Flash Drive was very quick and easy to do. We installed the Flash drive on a Compaq Presario PC with no trouble at all.
Since the Exelerator uses a standard 9-pin USB header inside the chassis the case door must be removed to gain access to the inside of the computer so the drive can be installed inside. This was easily done by removed the single thumbscrew that was holding the side panel on the Compaq Presario.
Once the side panel is removed one has to find an open USB header to plug the Flash drive into. Luckily on the Compaq Presario SR5010NX there was one open header on the ECS motherboard that wasn’t being used. If all the USB headers are used one must be removed for the Super Talent Exelerator to be used.
To install our 2GB Super Talent internal ReadyBoost Drive we simply pressed it down on the USB header and once it was firmly seated installation was completed. The one down side to the Exelerator is that it takes up a whole USB header that can normally support two external hedaers.
