Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the Best Pre-Selling Game in the Franchise

Nintendo has announced that the soon to launch Switch game called Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has become the best pre-selling game in the franchise history. The game will be a massive hit when it launches even before you add in buyers who don’t pre-order games. The launch date is December 7.

Along with being the biggest pre-sale title in Super Smash Bros. franchise history, the game is also the best pre-selling game that the Switch has ever had reports Gamespot. An exact number of copies pre-ordered isn’t offered.

We don’t know how many copies of other Smash Bros titles were pre-sold. However, Super Smash Bros. on Wii U sold 5.35 million copies. The same game on 3DS sold 9.35 million copies, and on Wii Super Smash Bros. Brawl sold 13.29 million copies. On the Switch, the top-selling game so far has been Super Mario Odyssey moving 12.17 million copies.

If the Super Smash Bros. game on the Switch is the best pre-selling game ever, it will likely go on to be one of the biggest selling titles on the platform. We only have a couple of weeks to find out how well the game does.
