It is never a good thing to see jobs being cut, but Sun Microsystems is getting ready to let 4,000 – 5,000 workers go in an attempt to save some money and turn things around.
Computer server maker Sun Microsystems Inc., whose revenue has declined four years in a row, said Wednesday it plans to cut 4,000 to 5,000 jobs in an effort to return to consistent profitability. The cuts will reduce the Santa Clara, Calif.-based company’s 37,500-person work force by between 11 and 13 percent.
