Steve Jobs Resigns as Apple CEO

By

Assuming this isn’t an elaborate hoax, multiple news sources are now reporting that Steve Jobs has resigned as Apple’s longstanding CEO. While it’s not clear the driver of the resignation (health issues have plagued him), he does recommend that Tim Cook succeed him in the role and he wishes to stay on with Apple as Chairman of the Board. Expect Apple’s stock to react to the news upon opening of the market tomorrow as the last time he stepped away for health reasons, Apple’s stock took a major hit.

Steve Jobs

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apples CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come. I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.
