The Xbox 360 was designed so voice communication is powered through the controller, which means voice communication on the SteelSeries Spectrum 7xb headset is facilitated by the connection of the headset to the AudioMixer, connected to the Xbox 360 controller. The Spectrum 7xb AudioMixer is a smaller, more compact version than the previous SteelSeries AudioMixer featuring only the Xbox LIVE chat volume and mute. For gamers who prefer single player games, voice communication can be removed when the headset and AudioMixer are disconnected from the Xbox 360 controller. While disconnected, the Spectrum 7xb will operate as a wireless headphone.
