Sprint and Intel Join Forces On WiMAX

Sprint and Intel will join forces in their efforts to advance the development of WiMAX technology, an IEEE standard for offering wireless broadband over metropolitan sized areas.

The agreement between the two companies calls for collaboration on technical specifications, equipment trials and interoperability testing with the goal of examining possible next-generation wide-area broadband devices and services.
