Space Shuttle Endeavour Fueled Up and Ready To Go

By

The Space Shuttle Endeavour is ready to go for the next-to-last flight of the space shuttle era. Endeavour was originally scheduled to launch two weeks ago, but an electrical problem had to be fixed. Now the mission is scheduled to lift off shortly before 9am Eastern time and will carry mission commander Mark Kelly – the astronaut husband of wounded Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. Endeavour is the youngest shuttle in the NASA fleet and was built to replace the Space Shuttle Challenger that was lost in 1986. One final mission remains for the fleet which flies in July.
