Sony subsidiary hacked

Sony subsidiary So-net was breached this past week. Only a small amount of gift points worth $1,225 were redeemed from hacked accounts before it was stopped. Sony is saying that they do not believe the this is related to the recent Play Station Network hack since the attacks were done differently.
“Although we can’t completely rule out the possibility that there is a connection with the PSN issue, the likelihood is low,” the Journal quoted So-net Entertainment spokesman Keisuke Watabe as saying. Watabe added that it was unlikely, because the attack methods used were different.
