Sony and Skype agree deal for free PSP calls

By

Sony has announced the VoIP application Skype and Go!Explore GPS receiver and software for PlayStation Portable will be available to users later this year. With a firmware update promised at the end of the month, users will be allowed to Skype free. Right now, however, only those having the “PSP-Slim” or “PSP-Light” versions of Sony’s PSP will be able to take advantage.

By downloading Skype’s software, which is expected to become available as early as this month, PSP users can make free Web-based phone calls with other PSP users and the users of PCs equipped with Skype software.
