Snap Spectacles 3 Are Still Ugly And Cost More
Snap hasn’t had good luck with its line of spectacles glasses that can be used to record videos and take still shots to share on the service. The original Spectacles were decently popular, but Snap bet too big and ended up with lots more than they could sell. Spectacles 2 didn’t fare much better.
Now Spectacles 3 are out, and they bring with them a much higher price tag and some new tech to make them more useful. The new Spectacles 3 have two HD cameras that can capture 3D photos and videos at 60 fps.
The cameras also feature four integrated microphones. The cameras combine images to build a “geometric map” of the world around you with a sense of depth perception. Spectacles 3 come in black or gold colors and sell for $380. They are still strange looking. The have integrated Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi and can capture and sync up to 70 videos per charge.
Storage is 4GB, and Spectacles will work with iPhone 7 or higher devices on iOS 11 or better. Select Android devices are supported on Android 6 or higher.
