Six Low End Intel CPUs About to Byte the Dust

With the impending arrival of Intel’s fancy new Ivy Bridge range of CPUs, it’s decided to take the hatchet to six of its low end models in the Celeron, Core i3 and Pentium ranges. Intel has let its partners know about this in Product Change Notification (PCN) PCN111441-00, advising that shipments of the models below will stop as of April 16, 2013. Customers can continue to order, with the right to cancel, up to October 16, 2012. After this date, an order cannot be cancelled. The affected parts are: Celeron P4600 (2.0 GHz), Core i3-370M (2.4 GHz), Core i3-390M (2.6 GHz), Pentium P6100 (2.0 GHz), Pentium P6200 (2.13 GHz) and Pentium P6300 (2.2 GHz).
