Seagate XT 2TB SATA 6Gb/s Hard Drive Testing
PCMark Vantage
PCMark Vantage is the first objective hardware performance benchmark
for PCs running 32- and 64-bit versions of Microsoft Windows Vista.
PCMark Vantage is perfectly suited for benchmarking any type of
Microsoft Windows Vista PC from multimedia home entertainment systems
and laptops to dedicated workstations and hi-end gaming rigs.
Regardless of whether the benchmarker is an artist or an IT
Professional, PCMark Vantage shows the user where their system soars or
falls flat, and how to get the most performance possible out of their
hardware. The PCMark Vantage benchmark was run in 64-bit mode for the
results shown below.

Benchmark Results: Just for fun we ran some WinRAR benchmarks and PCMark Vantage, but couldn’t see any real world differences using either of those applications. The only real spot that the Seagate XT 2TB hard drive impressed us was on the burst benchmarks! The overall PCMark Vantage score with a SATA 3.0 GB/s controller was 5305 PCMarks versus 5297 PCMarks on the SATA 6.0 GB/s controller. As you can see, there is not a significant difference between the two drives in PCMark Vantage’s hard drive test suite.
