Satechi 4 Port USB 3.0 Hub Performance

For testing, we chose to use the super fast Super Talent USB 3.0 Express 50GB flash drive as it’s one of the fastest USB 3.0 devices out there so if there are performance limitations/degradations running through the hub, they should visibly manifest themselves.

ATTO v2.41

ATTO is one of the oldest drive benchmarks still being used today and is still very relevant in the SSD world. ATTO measures transfers across a specific volume length. It measures raw transfer rates for both reads and writes and places the data into graphs that can be very easily interpreted. The test was run with the default runs of 0.5kb through 8192kb transfer sizes with the total length being 256mb.

Benchmark Results: It’s pretty obvious that the Satechi four port hub held no encumbrance over the RC8 drive as performance numbers were nearly identical for the drive alone versus the drive connected via the hub. Being the highest performance benchmark on this particular drives, if there were performance issues with the hub, we would surely hear them here.

Benchmark Results: Again, barely a difference between the bare drive and the drive as connected to the hub on the file benchmark. No concerns about performance here.
