Sapphire Radeon R7 260X 2GB OC 2x DVI Video Card Review
Sapphire TRIXX Tool
Sapphire has a GPU tool available called TRIXX. This little tool gives users the ability to know what is going on with their GPU, do some overclocking , or adjust the fan speed. There are many tools out there to do this, however it’s nice that Sapphire has their own tool.
The Info tab is exactly that, it provides a wealth of information about the video card, and drivers; probably more than most people need to know.
The Overclocking tab gives three very simple options, GPU Clock, Memory Clock and Power Limit. For each of these, there are three ways to change it, with the +/- buttons, the slider or entering the numbers directly. You also have easy access to four different profiles. The only thing I see missing, is an option to automatically overclock the card; I’ve seen other tools have that as an option and it would be a welcome update to the TRIXX utility.
Not many options for controlling the fan, Automatic, Fixed or Custom. In Fixed mode, you are presented with a +/- or slider to change the speed which takes affect immediately; the current fan speed % is the only indicator of the speed. For the Custom mode, you get a nice graph where you can adjust the temperature to speed settings; click on the graph and a new point will be created (right click to remove a point). Adjusting the Fan Speed is very easy to do and well thought out for both the novice and expert.
Lastly, the Settings tab; a few options here that are able to be enabled such as whether to start TRIXX at boot and in what state.
