Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 Toxic 1GB Video Card Review
Retail Box and Bundle
The retail box for the Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 Toxic lists the features
that the card
comes with and also shows that the video card comes with SimHD software.
Turning the retail box over, we see even more marketing
text and a list of sites that have given Sapphire awards since 2002. For
some reason Legit Reviews isn’t listed, but other sites’ awards are
shown twice. Not sure what to think about that, but that isn’t our
choice. The Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 Toxic retail box isn’t lacking any text, so let’s take a peek inside.
The Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 Toxic bundle included with the graphics card
includes a user manual, DVI to VGA adapter, ATI CrossFire bridge, two 4-pin MOLEX to 6-pin PCIe power adapters, the drivers CD and a full copy of ArcSoft’s
SimHD, a plug-in for ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre, the universal
high-definition multimedia player. It should be pointed out that the CrossFire bridge is one of the longer ones that we have come across. This isn’t the normal 2.5″ bridge as it measures 3.25″ across, which we are guessing is for better flexibility and support in various CrossFire enabled motherboards.
Taking a closer look at the VGA driver disc we can see that it also
comes with drivers, Adobe Acrobat reader and an online user’s manual.
No overclocking utilities are included with this card, which is a
shame, really, as it will likely overclock much further than what ATI’s
OverDrive utility will allow.
