Race Driver: GRID (known as GRID in North America) is the latest addition to the TOCA Touring Car series by Codemasters, published and developed by the same company. It was announced on April 19, 2007, and is available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS and PC. The game was released on June 3, 2008 in North America.

Graphics Settings

Race Driver: GRID uses Codemasters’ own Ego engine, an evolved version of the Neon engine already used in their previous release, Colin McRae DIRT. The damage code has been completely rewritten to allow for persistent damage environments. ‘Ultra’ settings were used.

Race Driver: GRiD Performance Chart

In this test, I raced on two different tracks: one that goes through the city and one that is closed circuit with much less background. As you can see from the chart, the Radeon HD 4670 did great, out-performing the GeForce 9600 GSO by 10FPS on each resolution, and both cards performed great when the game is set to be as visually stunning as possible, which impresses me to say the least.
