Unboxing The Sansa Fuze+

Here we have the Sansa Fuze+ outside of its packaging. I will say that as far as opening the box and getting everything out it was fairly simple and quick which is a nice thing. Although, immediately after opening the device and taking it out of the box I noticed that the entire device was glossy. So, unfortunately, this is a fingerprint magnet.

On the front we have the Back Arrow, Play/Pause Button, Navigation controls for Up/Down/Left/Right, and the circle center of the navigation controls is a select button.

These are all touch controls and very responsive with the UI.

Here we have the back of the Sansa Fuze+; as you can see it has a nice curve to it. As you can also see it’s highly reflective. The bottom of my light tent is shown fairly well off the back of this device. The FCC, CE, & Do Not Throw Away logos are shown clearly, though. There are no buttons or controls on the back.

Here is the micro-USB Charging & Syncing port on the right side of the Sansa Fuze+. You can also clearly see the edge of the device here where both parts of its shell come together.

Here is the right side off the Sansa Fuze+ with the Volume + / – (up & down) controls along with the MicroSD/MicroSDHC card slot and a slot radio card installed.

Here’s the top of the device; all we have up here is a lone power-button.

Here is the bottom of the Fuze+; the large hole is a 3.5mm headphones jack, which also acts as an antenna when using the FM-Radio function of the device. To the left of the 3.5mm hole on the seam of the device you can see a small pin hole; this is for the mic.

All right, let’s move on to the software and features of this device.
