SanDisk Extreme Pro microSDHC UHS-I 16GB Memory Card Review
Final Thoughts & Conclusions
If you are looking for a fast microSD card the SanDisk Extreme Pro microSDHC UHS-I memory card series should be on your short list. With 95MB/s read and 90MB/s write speeds you will get mind numbing transfer speeds from a memory card that fits on the tip of your finger. The size, storage capacity, and speed that you can get from this memory card form factor is very impressive. If you are a speed junky, enthusiast or prosumer you crave performance and this memory card easily fills that need.
Our testing showed that we were able to hit 95MB/s read and 83MB/s write speeds with a UHS-I supported USB 3.0 memory card reader. This read speed meets the manufacturers rating, but the write speed fell a little short. These performance numbers are the fastest that we have ever seen from a microSDHC memory card and should easily be able to handle Full HD (1920×1080), HD and 3D video playback from the memory card.
The SanDisk Extreme Pro microSDHC UHS-I card is available in two
capacities – 8GB ($59.99) and 16GB ($99.99). This is clearly more than a generic memory card or one that isn’t UHS-I, but you get what you pay for. With this memory card you get extreme performance and if that is what you need the prices are something you can look past. The Extreme Pro is also lifetime warrantied, so if anything ever fails with this memory card you can return it to SanDisk for replacement. The SanDisk Extreme Pro microSDHC UHS-I memory cards are compatible with any microSDHC-slotted device and are best suited with UHS-enabled smartphones, tablets and memory card readers.
