Samsung Display Becomes World’s Largest Display Manufacturer

Samsung, already a global leader in display panel technologies and products, has taken another giant step forward. With the merger of Samsung Mobile Display and S-LCD corporations, Samsung Display has now become the largest display manufacturer in the world, with a total of seven production facilities and 39,000 employees. Oh-hyun Kwon, Vice Chairman and CEO of Samsung Electronics, was also elected CEO of Samsung Display at the recent general meeting of stockholders and board of directors and had the following to say Our combined strengths will guide Samsungs display business through the next decade and longer, in turning the many synergistic benefits of the company into far-reaching, tangible results. With this merger between both companies, the newly formed Samsung Display plans to expand it’s management efficiencies while continuing to optimize it’s LCD and OLED business initiatives. Samsung Display has declared it will be striving to lead the future with its new corporate slogan “displays beyond imagination”.

Kwon said, Samsung Display is destined to attain virtually unlimited growth, through continuous efforts to combine our proven know-how in the display field with an overwhelming creative spirit.
