Rumor: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 Video Card Will Blow The AMD Radeon HD 7970 Away

By

Lenzfire says that the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 (Kepler) will be up to 45% faster than AMDs Radeon HD 7970 ‘Tahiti’ graphics card. The site goes on to say that the GeForce GTX680 will have a 2GB frame buffer and will be priced at $649 when it launches in April 2012. If this rumor is true it means that for $100 more than an AMD Radeon HD 7970 3GB card you will get a video card that is up to 45% faster. If this is true, it will be really good news for NVIDIA. Of course, this is just a rumor and with launch still over a month away it will be interesting to pan things out. It is always entertaining to check out the video card speculations before a major launch!

All the rumors say that NVIDIA will be the clear winner in upcoming matchups, but time will tell. NVIDIA did sit down with Legit Reviews at CES 2012 and told us to our face that they expected much more from AMD and the Radeon HD 7900 series. They said they did not fear the Radeon lineup for 2012, so we can’t wait to see what they are cooking. NVIDIA is really good at product marketing and they have managed to get us talking by telling us pretty much nothing.
