Rumor: Microsoft To Launch $100 Xbox “Lite”

By

It appears Microsoft is now working on more then one Xbox console. The successor to the Xbox 360, known by its codename Durango, will come later; while a new Xbox “Lite”, priced at $100, will release in 2013. The source, known as “MS nerd”, has posted on Reddit saying that the Xbox Lite will be for arcade-style games as well as current and future Kinect media apps. Xbox Lite will be ARM-based and should be price competitive with the Apple TV if you own a Kinect already. This new console seems to be aimed at the casual market, which should buy Microsoft some more time to focus on Xbox 360 successor. The Xbox Next, or Xbox 720, etc that will replace the Xbox 360 is still shrouded in mystery for the moment as details are still hazy, however, it is stated that it will do games and media apps for the core audiences. On top of this, it is expected that Kinect will see a camera upgrade and could possibly debut sometime in 2015.
