Rumor: AMD Radeon HD 7990 Clock Speeds & Configuration Revealed

With NVIDIA’s launch of the GeForce GTX 680 imminent, AMD has a potential ace up its sleeve: the Radeon HD 7990. The new dual-GPU monster is supposed to be unveiled in April, according to reports. INPAI is now reporting the HD 7990’s clock speeds and configuration, the GPU will supposedly come clocked at 850 MHZ on the core and 1250 MHz (5 GHz effective) memory. The new GPU will utilize two Tahiti graphics chips like those found in the Radeon HD 7970, which means the 7990 will come with 2x 2048 stream processors, 2×128 texture units, 2×32 raster units, with a 384-bit bus with 6GB GDDR5 (3GB usable). There is currently no word on pricing, but you can expect it will cost a pretty penny.

Tahiti XT

According to the information previously known, the HD7990 graphics card will have the Tahiti, two HD7970 XT graphics core, each tablet Tahiti, XT graphics core built into the 2048 stream processors, 128 texture units and 32 raster units, and all equipped with 384Bit-bit wide GDDR5 memory 3GB capacity.
