Rosewill R-Studio Ampbox Bluetooth Speaker Review
Rosewill Ampbox External Impressions
From the front, the Ampbox looks like many brick style speakers. The majority of the front side has a wire mesh to protect the speakers but not impede the sound. Behind the mesh is the two 2″ full-range speakers. Below the speaker is a little user manual pamphlet that covers basic operation of the Ampbox. The red portion of the speaker has been “rubberized”, and has a soft feel to it.
The back of the speaker looks like the front with a wire mesh screen that protects the large bass driver. While the mesh can not be removed, measuring the bass driver through the mesh, it came to around a 3inch bass driver.
Taking a look at the Ampbox from the side, we can see that it does not follow the common brick style of speakers; instead, Rosewill has gone to a more Triangle design. One of the sides is plain with just some vertical plastic lines to give it a texture rather than a smooth feel. On the other side, things are a little different. Here we find the Aux-In port, micro-USB, Battery indicator and power switch. Nothing too unusual.
Along the top edge of the Ampbox is the controls, here we find four buttons and a small microphone. The buttons include a Play/Pause, Phone/Bluetooth, Volume Down and Volume Up. Between the Phone/Bluetooth and Volume Down buttons is the tiny microphone for phone calls.
