Roomba Robot Vacuum and Braava Jet Mop Team to Vacuum And Mop

By

iRobot has been making its robotic vacuums for a long time. For people with hard floors, having them vacuumed automatically was very nice. But they still had to mop the floors. The advent of the Braava robot mops meant that mopping was also a task that the owner no longer needed to do.

The trick was synching the machine so that the mop didn’t get in the way of the vacuum and vice-versa. iRobot has a pair of cleaning robots called the Roomba S9+ and Bravva Jet 6 that work together to vacuum, mop, and dust the home reports Engadget.

The process is coordinated via the iRobot app. The app can tell the $499 Braava Jet M6 to clean floors after the Roomba s9+ robot vacuum has done its part. The Braava can pair with the Roomba i7+ from last year, but the S9+ can handle the edges of the room better. The new model also promises 40-times more suction than the old model.

The sweeper also has a base station that can hold 30 bins worth of dirt, so you don’t have to clean the robot after each use. Both the devices have smart mapping and will build their own map of your home.
